It has been brought to my attention that some people (okay most) doubt the sincerity of my original "I’m sorry" post. I see your point(s). I admit I am not sorry that during the brunt of the polar vortex hitting the US I was on a sun soaked beach with cool silky sand perched atop a lounge chair under a hut situated to provide just the right amount of shade and atmosphere to take in the rolling waves while reading, listening to music, napping, drinking gin and tonics…etc.
Please believe me I take almost no joy in the icy sufferings of family and friends. If that is not enough to placate the doubters, your turn to experience almost no joy in my icy sufferings will arrive soon enough. I return to the winter non wonderland that is NY Friday evening with only a hoodie to warm me as I make my way from the airport to my apartment. If you are especially lucky a long taxi line at JFK awaits.
Also, I thought it might be helpful to end this post with a list of some things I am legitimately sorry about to help rebuild trust.
I am sorry that….
1) On my first day in Aruba I accidentally kicked the leg of a lounge chair with my right foot causing the toe that goes wee wee wee all the way home to swell and no longer fit in any of the shoes I brought.
2) The sole pair of sandals that comfortably fit my newly puffed up pinky toe were only available for purchase in gold lame (either way you choose to pronounce this word is an accurate depiction). Yes, the attached picture is from a casino. No, I am not cool or confident enough to gamble.
3) My Ann Taylor blouse has a random awkward neck bow and the outside world has to accommodate it.
4) I ate a full bag of Rold Gold Pretzels on the beach in one day, got uber thirsty and drank buckets of water resulting in multiple trips to the restroom for time consuming battles with various cover ups and bathing suits.
5) After swearing off pretzels, the next day I repeated the cycle with a box of Triscuits (Original).
6) A very nice waitress almost tripped on my pocketbook, which I set on the floor, while holding a tray with several drinks in fancy glasses.
7) I wasn’t aware that sand can scratch sunglasses
8) I have lost several curiously timed Fitbit challenges
9) My left thumb nail has for the past 7 years grown in with a weird split that gets caught on everything. (This is not especially Aruba related but I did have to clip it here and it makes for a good and unattractive visual)
We all square now?
Therе’s definately a great deal to know about thiѕ subject.
